The US Farm Bill of 2018
In 2018, the United States government passed a bill known as the US Farm Bill, which was a follow-up bill that succeeded the passing of the Farm Bill of 2014. The US Farm Bill of 2018 removed full spectrum and broad spectrum CBD products from the list of Schedule I drugs.
Also, the Farm Bill of 2018 opened the doors for hemp growers to utilize federal services.
Prior to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp growers couldn’t use government-owned banks to hold the money they made from hemp-related transactions. The Farm Bill 2018 was the turning point for acknowledging that hemp plants are legal in the US on a federal level.
The <0.3% THC Law for CBD
In order to label a cannabis product as CBD in the US, the product must contain no more than 0.3% THC.
A product with a higher concentration of THC is subsequently capable of causing psychoactive effects. This means that it can alter the mental state and influence the physical abilities of the person who consumes the product, which crosses the line between cannabis and marijuana.
